VBS Het Ooievaarsnest Schoolplayground
In 2021, VBS Het Ooievaarsnest (Dutch for "The Stork Nest") built a completely new school building. Naturally, this included adding exciting new playground equipment. Lappset Nederland proudly installed a beautiful Lappset Sona and Parkour set-up, enhancing the space with creative and inclusive play options.

Enhancing Play with Lappset Sona and Parkour
In an initial discussion with Lappset Nederland and the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, the choice for the Sona was quickly made by Director Jan Verwulgen. The Lappset Sona Interactive dance and play arch brings an exciting, inclusive, and positive gaming experience to a broad audience. Designed for inclusivity, it makes playing together accessible to everyone. The press of a button unleashes a wide variety of games, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The Sona provides hours of fun for all ages. Perfect for groups of children during breaks.
The gym teachers expressed a desire for playground equipment that would enable students to actively exercise. A Parkour setup is perfect for this need. Parkour offers an unmatched level of exercise intensity and variety. Its beauty lies in allowing each child to move at their own pace, pushing their own limits. Gym teachers can integrate Parkour into their classes, and children will naturally continue to practice during recess, enhancing their motor development.
Empowering Play: The New Schoolyard Revolution
Jan Vertonghen himself was present at the opening, and after a nice speech, the schoolyard was officially opened by cutting the ribbon. Then the children could test the different playground equipment. The Jan Vertonghen Foundation wants to encourage children to play more outdoor sports, games, and exercise by creating contemporary play environments or playgrounds. The playgrounds are equipped with interactive play equipment adapted to current youth interests.
