Lappset Group launches to the international markets the Moomin Play by Lappset product collection, with the first production being the Moominhouse and yard entirety.
“Cooperation with the Moomin brand was initiated with a contract made in early 2019. Working together will strengthen the status of Finnish culture and design in the global markets. This new collection of playground equipment further expands the range of Lappset’s themed playgrounds. In addition to the Moomin-themed playground collection, we also have the opportunity to design and produce Moomin-themed activity parks for carefully selected markets”, tells CEO Tero Ylinenpää.
The Moomins are the central characters in a series of books and comic strips by Swedish-speaking Finn Tove Jansson, renowned painter, illustrator and author. All in all, she published eight novels, collections of short stories, four picture books and numerous comic strips about the Moomins between 1945 and 1980.
The Moomins have since been the basis for numerous television series, films and theme parks.
Learning combined with a genuine Moomin story experience
The Moomin-themed collection has been designed to inspire children of kindergarten and junior school age, to support their learning, and to give children authentic experiences set in the Moominland surroundings.
The collection includes park entireties designed for different characters and individual Moomin-themed playground products. The collection was designed in close cooperation with the company that owns the Moomin trademark, Moomin Characters Ltd.
Equal play for everyone in public parks
Lappset’s Moomin playground collections are designed for public parks and outdoor areas, making them freely available for everyone to use on the basis of equal respect.
The Moomin-themed collections, such as the Moominhouse and yard, and other Moomin playground equipment, support the values shared by the Moomins. Moomins value friendship, courage, tolerance, equality, and a respect for nature.
The collection’s park entireties and individual products comply with Playground Equipment Standard EN1176.
The Moomin Play by Lappset collection is the result of entering into cooperative agreement with Moomin Characters Ltd in April 2019, licensing the Lappset Group to manufacture Moomin-themed playground equipment and activity parks for selected markets.
