Sustainability is one of Lappset’s four key values. The Group’s offices and factories have gradually transferred to green energy. In Finland, the Company’s facilities moved to 100 % green energy from the beginning of 2021. The Swedish and Dutch subsidiaries have already been using electricity from renewable sources during a few years. As a part of the expansion of the scale of operations in Estonia, Lappset Group has also decided to increase the share of green electricity in the Tallinn factory.
As of May this year, the Tallinn factory will start using green electricity. This means that all Group facilities will use electricity from renewable sources. The main sources used are hydro and wind for the Group electricity needs for years to come.

Uusipaavalniemi points out that in almost all Group procurement decisions, the sustainability aspect plays an important role.
“When choosing supplier partners, we always stress the importance of their fulfilling our sustainability requirements (CSR) which were stated already in 2014 in our Procurement Policy.”
Transformation to green electricity is a part of Lappset’s sustainability actions and it is based on one of the key values of the Company “Sustainability is in our DNA”.
