Vibrant playground in a school in Denmark

A school in Denmark had an old worn playground, which was replaced by a play area invites students to play and be active

The school is in the middle of the town of Otterup (in the middle of the pedestrian street) and has no green areas for students to frolic in. Therefore, the school wanted a warm and vibrant playground in the colours of nature, where students could come out and get their heart rate up. When they were introduced to our Flora series from Lappset by our local channel partner Maxplay, it was love at first sight.

The playground has the perfect combination of beautiful design and durable materials, which both invite to active play and can withstand being used. We have long known that learning and play are closely linked, and science shows that physically active students are both happier and have better learning abilities. The project therefore largely focused on creating an environment where movement, creativity and play could flow together.

The result was this inspiring playground, which now functions as a creative sanctuary, where students at Otterup Realskole can learn, play and relax - both in school and leisure time.
