Awards and recognitions

The successful design and high quality of our products are probably best demonstrated by the many recognitions we have received because of them. Over the decades, Lappset Group Ltd has won numerous awards and recognitions for its business and the functional design of its products. Also, parks and playgrounds with our products and solutions have succeeded in architecture and landscaping design contests all over the world.

Lappset Group won the 2023 Arctic Design Award in the category of design-intensive companies.  According to the jury, Lappset has consistently used design throughout the years to differentiate itself from its international competitors.

Our Halo range, which represents modern Scandinavian design, won the esteemed international German Design Award Special in 2016.

Lappset Group Ltd’s Fono DJ concept was the winner of the 2014 Red Dot Award. Fono was chosen for its user-friendly and practical design.

Lappset’s Parkour products won the Finnish Sport Product of the Year award in 2010 (26 January 2011).

The SmartUs concept won the NOT Innovation Prize in 2007 (at the National Exhibition on Education in the Netherlands).

The Axiom product range was voted the winner of Design Forum Finland and Fennia Group’s international Fennia Prize design award in 2005.

The Axiom range was one of the Top Nominees for the international INDEX: Award in 2005.

Chair of Lappset Group Ltd’s Board of Directors Johanna Ikäheimo was presented with the Finnish Golden Gavel award in 2012 in recognition of her excellent work on the Board and advocacy of good governance practices.

The SmartUs concept was chosen as the Information Technology Solution of the Year in 2008 (Finnish Information Technology Association, 2009).

Playgrounds supplied by Lappset won two Golden Swing awards in Spain in a competition organised by the Diseño de la Ciudad magazine for local authorities in 2008. The Golden Swing award is given in recognition of designing and building the best playgrounds.

The 0–100 range (now Senior Sport), which was developed to support the physical fitness of seniors, was chosen as the highlight of the FinnBuild’08 exhibition from among 90 proposals in 2008.

The SmartUs concept made it to the final of the international Stockholm Challenge ICT innovation competition in 2008.

Lappset was voted Finland’s Best Workplace in the Great Place to Work competition in 2007.

The SmartUs playground concept won the Finnish Fitness Solution of the Year award in 2007 (Federation of Finnish Sports Professionals).

Lappset won the Finnish Export Award of the President of the Republic in 1995.

Lappset won the Finnish Entrepreneurship Award in 1993.
