A large indoor playground was opened in the Skallerup Klit holiday centre in Jutland, Denmark in the summer of 2008. The playground also features SmartUs technology.
Thanks to two inGrids, an inPlay arena with an inStation unit, a Smart Reg sign-in unit and a real-time ScoreBox centre, dozens of children can play at the same time and take part in different games. These are vital factors, as the holiday centre attracts tens of thousands of visitors.
According to Niels Bro, Managing Director of Skallerup Klit, the goal was to develop better play facilities for children. The feature that ultimately sold SmartUs was the integration of physical activity and interactive games.
"We wanted to offer children an opportunity to play and learn at the same time. The large computer screens and interactive games instantly capture children's attention. Moreover, the playground is extremely user-friendly for all user groups. Another reason for choosing SmartUs was the fact that the software can be upgraded without replacing any of the equipment. This means that we can constantly offer new games for our visitors. We are also excited about the possibility of introducing a SmartUs Play feature on our website. Children can visit the website from home, which increases their motivation and dedication to this unique concept. The competitive element encourages visitors to come back to improve their ranking on the scoreboard."
According to Niels Bro, SmartUs iCards will eventually be used as entry tickets to other activities in Skallerup Klit as well and ultimately integrated into the electronic booking system. |
